This week’s random act of kindness was to give a $1 to a random kid leaving the Wal-mart. I did ask his Mom if it was okay first.
It was so cute as he ran straight for the toy machines with it to get a prize. Same thing I would have done at his age! Or maybe I would have hit the candy aisle??? Hmmmmm…
What have you done lately?
It felt like a million degrees outside on Saturday, so I decided to stay in and do some crafting. I had found a Mexican matching game that had the best largish square tiles that I thought would be perfect to alter to hang onto a LONG chain.
I started with the text from the pages of a 1920s spelling primer. I covered the entire tile and sides, too. I then inked the edges to age it a bit more. I then rubber stamped the image of a very old typewriter. On the other side I added a bit of lace.
I used Mod Podge to seal it all down.
I went to Friday for the Arts on Friday evening and bought a necklace from my artsy buddy, Rose. She put it in the prettiest little bag and I saved it. I thought it would be perfect to cover another tile.
I again covered the entire tile and then added a bit of lace and a vintage flower button. I left the back as it as I liked the design.
I really like them both. I will test them out later this week on a really long chain.
What have you made from your trash lately?
So sorry I forgot about last week’s post! I have no real excuse, but the week got away from me!
This week’s random act of kindness called for a bit of clandestine arrangements. I work for a not for profit and we have a salon in our center without a chair to perform the services in.
My trusty hairdresser told me about a chair that a man was selling that he found in a storage unit he posted. I slipped the man the money for the chair and asked him to say it was donated. So now we have a chair!
I love it when a plan comes together!
It has been a while, hasn’t it? I made a couple of these bracelets this past weekend. The other one has to be redone as it is a bit too loose.
This is one that I purchased and then decided to cut off the 2nd leather loop. Well, I inadvertently cut off both loops. I watched a video on Youtube by Auntie’s Beads and then had at it.
I love the way it came out even though I redid it about 4-5 times before I called it done. I love the beads on this one. They are German Glass beads and I like how they looks grungy!
