Last week, I had a lunch date with a former co-worker who loves interesting brooches.  I wanted to bring her a little gift so I started checking out this book which was sent to me by this lady

I didn’t have some parts for all of the projects in the book so I decided to improvise.  I did use one of the templates for the body, embellish it with beads, and used brass hands and feet charms.  The face is a rubber stamped onto a piece of balsam wood (woodsies) which I cut around the outline.  A bit of yarn makes her hair.

I had so much fun making this one that I decided to make some others, too.  That turned into making 8 more!

They were super easy to make and are so cute, too!  I love the wild yarn hair and their expressions.

Not a bad way to spend an afternoon hanging out with some artsy ladies and being creative!  The best part of all they didn’t complain as I poked them repeatedly with the needle!

Aren’t they cute?  If I do say so myself!  Thanks Mary Ann for the book and the inspiration!
