Can you picture it?  A 5′ 10″ dwarf with a silly hat and the funny shoes sewing away!

I am, in the words of my friend Clara, statuesque.  Always taller than the others and “big boned” {insert: never met a sweet that I didn’t like}.  I remember in grade school, since I was a sturdy kid, I always got the privilege (??) of carrying my teacher’s tray back to the cafeteria after lunch.  The untold joy of “you’re tall, can you get that for me?”  And the one that makes my heart sing…”Hey grab that side of this very heavy thing and HEAVE!”

Never was good at basketball and contrary to assumptions, you are “not good” at b-ball just because you are tall!  However, if they needed a wall on the court to stand there with arms flailing and jumping, I would be the girl!

Apparently, I have some things to work through (still)!

I owed a couple of items so got busy last night making the promised.  First, I worked on the Christmas postcard for Barbara.  Here is the back of the card, the front will be posted once she has received it.

postcard back

I have an aversion for solid backs on my cards.  It is always a challenge to see what I can use and still have the writing/address show up.  Since I posted the pic of the other card already, I felt I owed Barbara a new one.  I really like it and it was made from material I thrifted from the Goodwill last week.  The fabric dictated the design which you will see when I post the front as soon as Barbara receives it.  It is going out today, Barbara.

Next, I made the necktie scarf that Kiva requested.  Kiva won my 100th post giveaway and was able to choose from all of my crafty repertoire for her prize.  Here is the sneak peek of what is going into the mail today for you, Kiva.

necktie button

Is that the coolest button!  I was digging through my bountiful bottles of buttons and came upon it.  Love it and it is the perfect compliment to the tie it’s on.   I will post the entire scarf once Kiva has received it so I don’t spoil her surprise.  She has been feeling a bit puny, so hope this will make her smile.

And a bit of humor for us all:
