“…it’s essential to keep an open mind, and to be willing–better yet, eager–to try new things.”

Ramblings in Realtime

Where does your inspiration come from? What do you look at that starts the wheels going? Do you see things that aren’t and say “why not?”

I get inspired by flipping through magazines, going to the craft store, looking at a pretty fabric, or just taking a few moments to breathe. When you slow down the mind has time to think.  Inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes.

My friend, James, can see a pile of scrap wood or a trashed old wire rack and see a painting or a display.  He can create with the very least of things and make it great.  It might take me longer to see greatness in some old tossed 2×4 pieces.  I tease him constantly as those 2×4 bits have been used and used in countless displays and now as a 3 piece montage of artwork.

The picture above is of my new create sign that I got at Feathernesters. The cards are my latest additions to the clothing cards.

For more inspiration check out my new internet crafter buddy Heidi’s blog Everyday Cookies.  Her journals inspire me and her party hats delight!  She was nice enough to send me some paper bags to make my own journal.  I have decided to start a collage journal.  I am going to ask James to teach me how to collage.  I will keep you and Heidi posted.

Post a comment and let me know what inspires you to CREATE!
