On my way to dog sitting this weekend I decided to stop at the Goodwill in Mechanicsburg since I was going right passed it.  It is a hit or miss kind of store.  I either score really, really big or I score nothing at all.  This trip was the really, really big score!

In addition to this lovely old vintage hand pieces and embroidered barkcloth crazy quilt for $4.99, yes, a vintage handmade quilt for $4.99, 

I scored a brand new with tags Vera Bradley purse from this past summer’s collection and a brand new looking (barely used) red and blue Vera Bradley backpack purse. 

I must be living right! 

You most likely have heard about the Nor’easter that stormed up the East Coast Friday and Saturday.  It was a massive storm with most of the areas seeing over 9” of snow.  It snowed steadily from Friday about 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Saturday night.  There was a bit of a break in between, but it piled up! 

Since I was dog sitting for the weekend and pretty much housebound for the weekend, I decided to get some yarn on my way from the Goodwill to their house.  I had found some needles at the Goodwill for $1.25 so I only needed the yarn. 

I found a large ball of a chunky variegated yarn and added some variegated fun fur to the mix.  I like how it came out in the end, but think it needs a bit more to make it complete.  So while I decide it will sit on my dresser.

I am leaning toward some felt flowers, but not completely sure of that.

I love Sherry’s art.  Her ladies have a very sweet and whimsical quality.

She explained in her note that in her culture that corn is the most important of the three sisters to her.  The other two are beans and squash.  Her stitching is lovely and the woven dream catcher great. 

What a lucky girl I am to have great crafty friends.  I met both of these ladies through art swap groups.  Sherry commented that she doesn’t know what her life would be like without her arty friends on Flickr.  Amen.  I have “met” some of the nicest people and the greatest artists, too. 

Life is good! 

Work has been exhausting this week and the extra stuff has been pooping me out.  I was hoping for some mail to show, but it is delayed.  It is the “most wonderful time of the year,” right?  Remind me again why?

As I go about my thrifty and estate saling ways I keep in mind my friends.   I know that this lady loves gingham.  She loves it.  So when I hit a church rummage sale and saw a couple of yards I immediately thought of Vallen.  I put it in the mail and sent it off to her. 

A bit later these lovelies arrived in the mail.  Along with some loose felty roses she had made.  She knows me…broochy, sparkly, flowery…yep she knows me!
