Childhood memories as far as kitties are concerned:- I used to dress my kittens up and take them in my dolls pram down the street. I can’t believe now that they used to just lay there and even more so I can’t believe my Mum allowed me to do it – the poor darling were probably scared to death!

Slightly different memory – I was born just before the war started and I remember we had an Anderson shelter covered in sandbags dug down into the floor in our dining room! We used to sleep in there everynight -me, my brother, my mum and my dad. I remember laying there after I’d been put to bed watching my dad eat his tea. It all seemed quite normal at the time!
