First and foremost, I want to introduce you to the newest member of the Estate de Crafte’, Hortense.

DSC00696

Hortense traveled from the land of A Very Mary Design to my home.  She was created by the wonderful artist MaryAnn.  She started her life as someone’s couch cushion or the thought of someone’s cushion to be lovingly created (but I would surmise a bit of swearing occurred in the process) and sent to live with me.

The best part is the backside as MaryAnn includes a butt crack on each and every ugly.  She is too much of a lady, my Hortense, and kept flipping herself over as I tried to get a tight bum shot!  (Oh, I crack myself up!)  After all, she IS a LADY!  She kept telling me.

If you would like your very own Hortense,  her ugly sister, Lurla, or any of MaryAnn’s uglies you can head over here.  She is having a sale on them right now so hurry as I am sure they will not last.   Plus, she will ship them for free to you.

Kiva of Southern Girl Musings tagged me to disclose 7 random things.

Now, you chosen ones, this is what you have to do:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So here is goes in no particular order, 7 random things about thee (me):

  1. I am next to the youngest of 7 children, 4 girls and 3 boys.
  2. I love things that other people have already loved and “broken in” which explains my love of thrift shops.
  3. I do not travel well, but love to travel.  My Mom often told me that when I was a baby that they couldn’t take me anywhere as I cried from the time they started dressing me to the time they returned me to my crib.  I believe that translates to today as I am a real homebody.
  4. I love the beach and water in general.  I love walking in the surf, picking up shells, tossing the not worthy shells into the surf and taking pictures.
  5. I have spent a large part of my life in 3 states: Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia.  I also lived briefly in Ohio before moving to Virginia.
  6. I am a Baltimore Orioles fan and have always been one.
  7. Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my Grandmother and Great Aunts Rose and Minnie (my Dad’s family) as both of my parents worked.  I treasure this time as it taught me to appreciate the contribution of the older generations.  They always told me the most glorious stories of the olden times.  My Aunt Minnie passed away at 102 and was around since the late 1800’s so there were magical times to tell me of.

Since we are all the parts of the people that are part of our lives, I won’t tag 7 others as I am supposed to do.  If you care to share 7 things about you let me know and I will link to your post.

Hope you are having a great week!
