I have seen a lot on the blogs about Scrumble or free form crochet. The creations are awe inspiring. There are people making undersea scenes, shawls, scarves and on and on.
Most of the creations involved a crochet stitch that I had never heard of, the bullion stitch. You can see a tutorial of the stitch here. Since I like to learn new things and I love to crochet, I spent the evening trying this new stitch along with some free form crocheting.
I give you the bullion scrumble ala Cindy!

Here is one a bit closer so you can see the detail of the bullion.

I see brooches ala bullion once I perfect it a bit more. Stay tuned!
The weekend is upon us. Tonight is Friday for the Arts in Petersburg (held the 2nd Friday of every month). If you are in the area check it out!

Come on, Cindy!!!!!!! You KNOW I’ve only just learned the first chain in crochet, then you put out this fancy soupy number? LOL I’ll just watch from the side…I don’t know I’m a hooker, I mean crocheter. LOL Enjoy the “Friday..ARTS” event, how fun!

You bullion looks yummy! I’ve never seen a stitch like that either. I sigh when I look at crochet, all I know how to do is one long chain, but I have become quite proficient at being creative with my pitiful little chain. Wish we lived close so you could teach me. Oh, I forgot, that won’t work, see, two people have already tired and failed. Well they tried and I failed. I worked a sweat, tied my fingers all up, and all I got for my effort was laughed at and a squiggly little green thing. Well, I was quite proud of Mr. Squiggly as I named him. Anway, I hope you have a great weekend my sweet and crafty friend!
P.S. The purse below turned out great and I agree, it is great to be you, not because of what you accomplish (which is a lot!) and not for what you get (really cool stuff!), but for who you are and what you give of yourself!

Wow you are a busy girl! (I finished 2 cloth shopping bags this week. I feel like such a slacker.)
I think your scrumbles would look great as brooches. I could see two of them stacked, with a pretty button in the center.
The felted tote and cozies look wonderful too. I’m sure the recipients will love them!
